  1. artists, all kinds of people came through. And we 
  2. had typically a meeting every Monday night, which 
  3. was wide open. The public could attend, and did. 
  4. And we‚Äôd have a guest in, somebody who just 
  5. happened to be in town that day, or that week. 
  6. And of course it wasn‚Äôt just a meeting, a public 
  7. meeting, it was part of a graduate course. It was 
  8. one of the lectures, one of the lessons. It just 
  9. happened that this lecture was open to the public 
  10. and anybody could come in.

  12. It was a great thing to do with grad students. 
  13. They‚Äôre usually closeted in a classroom across 
  14. campus, and they sit and take notes and go off
